Sustainability integration - a business priority
Sustainability is a key driver at SCHOTT Pharma that helps us to deliver our business strategy and enables our growth today and in the future. This follows the path set by our founders: In 1884, they established the Carl Zeiss Foundation to pioneer worker welfare rights and directed company dividends to support social institutions and science.
We continue to act as a responsible corporate citizen with a clear commitment to diversity, inclusion, human rights, and fair business practices. Recognizing the significant threat of climate change, we are committed to taking our responsibility seriously. Therefore, we have prioritized the decarbonization and resource efficiency of our operations and supply chain as a business imperative, aiming to achieve climate neutrality by 2030 and reduce our carbon footprint in alignment with the Paris Agreement.
Our sustainability strategy focuses on and aligns with our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With our products and services, we contribute to:
SDG 3 – Good health and well-being: Our products administer over 25,000 injections per minute around the world.
SDG 5 – Gender equality: We promote equal opportunity and are strong advocates for diverse teams.
SDG 12 – Responsible consumption and production: We pioneer sustainable and circular packaging solutions in the pharmaceutical industry.
SDG 13 – Climate action: We strive for climate-neutrality by 2030.

Our decarbonization plans were validated by the science-based target initiative to be in line with the Paris Agreement and the target of limiting global warming to 1.5°C, and received the German Sustainability Award 2024. Key measures include:
